This is a very young site, but I’ve been blogging for quite a while. I do have bills to pay (not least for web hosting) and lenses to buy.
But I thought it would be worthwhile to put up a statement of site ethics.
I’m not writing it in legalese. Hopefully it’s straightforward and understandable. Any questions, feel free to ask.
Privacy
When you visit this site, you may pick up a “cookie”. This will be a standard WordPress cookie to keep track of where you’ve been on the site.
I also have Google’s Analytics scripts (or similar) installed to figure out what people do on my site (and how many of them do it). This is (so far as I’m aware) anonymised. I may review weblogs (which may hold your IP address) – in part to identify potential threats to the site.
You may choose to subscribe to this blog – either anonymously, or by signing up as a user. I won’t sell or intentionally disclose any information you confide to the site (unless, of course, you include it in comment text !) – this won’t normally be any more than your name and email address in any case.

Links and Affiliations
The nature of blogging means that I’ll be linking to other websites.
In some cases, I’ll be recommending a product or service. If I benefit from that, I’ll clearly state that it’s an affiliate link*, but, believe me, I won’t make enough out of these to cloud my integrity. If I recommend, then it will be from a good faith belief.
* Some suppliers offer commission to sites who introduce business to their sites – amazon is the most notable. This is taken from their end of the deal – the customer doesn’t pay more for the product.
